The Mitre is one of Knaresborough's finest dining, drinking and accommodation experiences.We're proud to have achieved a 4 star rating for our bedrooms and to be listed in the 2009, 2010 , 2011 and 2012 CAMRA Good Beer Guides.Built in 1922 on the site of a former inn called The Wheatsheaf, the Mitre was closed in 2003. Since then it has been completely refurbished to the highest possible standard to faithfully restore the magnificence of one of Knaresborough most renowned inns.Re-opened late 2007 to the general public, The Mitre is now offering sumptuous food, fine hand-pulled real ales and 4 luxurious en-suite bedrooms. Situated at the top of Water Bag Bank (adjacent to St Johns Church and Knaresborough railway station) The Mitre benefits from superb views, is only 10-minutes drive from the centre of the spa town of Harrogate and is the perfect place to meet, relax and enjoy yourself.
